His dedication to R&B, Funk, Jazz, and Gospel is felt by every ear and heart that is blessed to be in his audience. His music career has spanned over 3 decades and he is just getting started.<\/p>\n He began playing at the tender age of 4 at his hometown church in Daytona Beach, Florida. He further developed his drumming skills in junior and senior high school with the marching and jazz bands. During his time playing the drums in high school, he received the prestigious Louis Armstrong award. By then he knew that he would be playing the drums professionally for the rest of his life.<\/p>\n After high school Fryson, Jr joined the world renowned Florida A&M University\u2019s Marching 100 band under the leadership of Dr. William P. Foster. During this time he traveled with the band to perform in the Bahamas and many different states in the U.S. Fryson graduated with his B.S. in Music at Florida A&M University summer of 2016.<\/p>\n Steve Fryson, Jr has been featured on the soundtrack for the Golden Globe and Oscar winning movie \u201c12 Years a Slave,\u201d Cody ChesnuTT\u2019s albums \u201cLanding on A Hundred \u201c and \u201cLanding on A Hundred B-Sides and Remixes\u201d featuring Grammy Award Winner Gary Clark Jr. He has also toured worldwide with Cody ChesnuTT. He has traveled to Japan, Australia, Switzerland, Spain, all around the U.S, and dozens more countries.<\/p>\n Fryson Jr has worked with schools in Florida and Georgia including Florida A&M University Tallahassee, Florida; Suncoast High School in Palm Beach County, Florida; Spruce Creek High School in Volusia County, Florida; Thomasville High School in Thomas, County, Georgia; and Rickards High School in Leon County, Florida. He is currently teaching young people drumming under his company Fryson Drum Academy.<\/p>\n\t Educator, Recording, and Touring Drummer<\/p>\ninfo@frysondrumacademy.com<\/a> What you will learn during lessons?<\/strong><\/p>\n We offer lessons from ages 4 through adult, from beginners to advanced. We will teach students technique, reading, four-way coordination, and develop different musical genres\/styles.
